I have always been drawn to old piers and pilings that in times gone by, provided a sure foundation. The wood now slowly disappearing as time, water and sun take their toll. Although their original purpose has been long abandoned they continue to provide a home for barnacles and seaweed as well as a rest area for weary sea birds. While out scouting I found that location. The one I had seen many times in my mind’s eye. I was excited but I needed the right conditions to begin to create my vision. Months later that condition arrived and I began Peering into the Smoke.
